Program and Schedules Bible StudyStudying the Scriptures is an important part of the National Youth Gathering. This is why we begin each day by opening our Bibles together and listening to what God says in His written Word. For more information on Bible Study leaders, click HERE.
During the Gathering we will explore what WE BELIEVE through a track system that allows you to experience all the Gathering has to offer. Program tracks involve you in learning that is rooted in the Word and our Lutheran identity. Moving in a smaller group, roughly 1/3 of the Gathering body, everyone will connect with each of the three tracks during the days of the Gathering. Your congregation will be provided with your program track with your housing assignment.

LOOK experiences center us on seeing what God has done for us in Christ, and how that changes our lens for the world around us and for eternity. LOOK includes a variety of hands-on learning opportunities. LISTEN experiences place you in groups of 50 to 5,000, where you will connect with a variety of presenters, workshop leaders, and music/arts performers. Those presenters will break down the themes and apply them to our Lutheran faith and our daily lives. LIVE experiences are opportunities for you to learn by doing. LIVE experiences also include servant event options that will allow many of you to serve the city of New Orleans through off-site events and through projects in the Convention Center. Academy courses are designed to help you take a deeper and more extended look at what God has spoken through His prophets and apostles. Courses are led by pastors and professors who are experts in their fields, and they are meant to stretch your intellect and make you think. Each course will include time to ask questions and engage the presenters on a more personal level.
You do not have to register for an academy, but if you plan to attend you are making a commitment to attend three days in a row. Please plan your schedules accordingly.
For more information on the WE BELIEVE Academy, click HERE to view a page from the Gathering Guidebook.
There will be several concerts taking place throughout the Gathering. Some of the interest centers will include a brief concert with a speaker, but there are several that are not part of a track. Click HERE to see the concert information in the Gathering Guidebook.
Night Life events include concerts, games, dancing (and dance lessons), as well as the opportunity to join with others for a time of prayer or a chance to dive deeper into conversation with some of the Gathering speakers. If you want to dance (or learn to dance), Saturday has the most options. And throughout the Gathering, there will be special appearances by The Skit Guys, Lost & Found, and Remedy Drive, and even you can showcase your talent! All Night Life events will include a time of prayer and praise led by bands from Lutheran churches and schools across the country.
For Night Life options, click HERE to view pages from the Gathering Guidebook.
In addition to these options, there is one Night Life event that will be part of the LIVE track. On the day your group experiences LIVE, you can attend a prayer vigil in Lafayette Square. Find more information on the LIVE page.
On Sunday at the Gathering, each of the three groups will start their Gathering experience in a different track. The three groups will move through the tracks in this manner:
In your housing packet, you will find your Track Group assignment (Group A, Group B, Group C). (Ask your Primary Adult Leader) for this information.) Click on the group names below to see the Gathering Guidebook pages of your group's schedule for the Gathering.
